Autumn has arrived in the woodland, and the squirrels are busily gathering acorns for the colder days ahead. They collect, carry and carefully hide their precious stores—but something very strange is happening. Each time they return, there seem to be fewer acorns than before!

Confused and worried, the squirrels chatter and argue as they try to discover where their winter food has gone. When their search uncovers sleepy Spike the hedgehog beneath a pile of leaves, they begin to wonder whether he knows something about the mystery. Luckily, kind-hearted Mazin is ready to help. With Spike following close behind, she sniffs around the woodland and searches for clues.

A fallen feather and a suspicious shadow finally lead the friends towards a pair of magpies—and a hidden pile of missing acorns. But finding the culprits is only part of the adventure. Can Mazin help everyone understand what happened and find a kind and fair way to put things right?

Mazin and the Missing Acorns is a lively rhyming story about teamwork, patience, forgiveness and solving problems together. Young readers can follow the clues, meet a busy group of woodland characters and discover why it is important to listen before jumping to conclusions.

The story is accompanied by charming black-and-white illustrations created especially for colouring. Children can bring Mazin, Spike, the squirrels, magpies, acorns and autumn woodland to life using pencils, crayons and their own imagination. The pictures are printed single-sided, giving young artists plenty of room to colour and enjoy each scene.

Ideal for children who love dogs, hedgehogs, squirrels, birds, woodland mysteries and creative activities, this story-and-colouring book makes a delightful gift or an enjoyable choice for shared reading and quiet colouring time.

There is also a little acorn hidden among the illustrations throughout the book, adding an extra search-and-find challenge for observant young readers.

Every Mazin’s Woodland Adventures book tells a complete story and can be enjoyed in any order. Read, colour and imagine as Mazin follows the clues, helps her woodland friends and discovers another unexpected adventure.
