Something unusual is happening beside the woodland stream. Twigs are floating through the water, a tree has been gnawed through and branches are disappearing almost as quickly as they fall. Curious Mazin follows the clues and soon discovers a very busy beaver hard at work.

The determined beaver is building a dam, but as the barrier grows, the stream begins to change. The water becomes wider and deeper, familiar paths start to disappear and the woodland animals must adjust to their changing home. Frogs gather along the bank, ducks arrive to investigate and Mazin’s friend Bramble, a gentle dapple-grey pony, comes to see what all the excitement is about.

At first, Mazin is uncertain about the beaver’s enormous project. Is all this building causing trouble, or could the new pond become something wonderful? As Mazin watches the wildlife gather and begins to understand the beaver’s plan, an unexpected friendship starts to grow.

Mazin and the Very Busy Beaver is a lively rhyming story about curiosity, change, cooperation and learning to see things from another point of view. It gently introduces children to the way beavers transform their surroundings and create new places where other wildlife can live.

The adventure is accompanied by charming black-and-white illustrations created especially for colouring. Children can bring Mazin, Bramble, the beavers, ducks, frogs, dragonflies and the growing woodland pond to life with pencils, crayons and their own imagination. The pictures are printed single-sided, giving young artists plenty of space to enjoy each busy scene.

Ideal for children who love dogs, ponies, woodland wildlife, nature and creative activities, this story-and-colouring book makes an enjoyable gift or a fun choice for shared reading and quiet colouring time.

Each Mazin’s Woodland Adventures book tells a complete story and can be enjoyed in any order. Read, colour and imagine as Mazin meets new friends and discovers how even a very big change can bring something good.
