Beside an old woodland shed, Mazin discovers a forgotten patch of ground filled with tired pots, tangled plants and a broken gutter. It may not look very promising, but a tiny caterpillar gives the curious husky a wonderful idea. Could this neglected corner become a garden where butterflies can feed, shelter and grow?

Mazin begins her biggest gardening project yet. She carefully moves nettles for hungry caterpillars, uncovers the soil, arranges stones and uses the dangling drainpipe to carry precious rainwater into the dry ground. With muddy paws, determination and plenty of imagination, she creates a welcoming place filled with useful plants and colourful flowers.

As the garden begins to flourish, Mazin watches the caterpillars grow plump among the leaves. One eventually forms a chrysalis beneath the old shed window, and Mazin waits patiently for something magical to happen. When the garden finally bursts into bloom, butterflies arrive to enjoy the flowers—but the most wonderful surprise is still waiting to unfold.

Mazin and the Butterfly Garden is a gentle rhyming story about patience, transformation, caring for nature and discovering the difference one small garden can make. It introduces young readers to the needs of butterflies and caterpillars while celebrating wildlife-friendly gardening and the excitement of watching living things grow.

The story is accompanied by charming black-and-white illustrations created especially for colouring. Children can bring Mazin, the caterpillars, butterflies, flowers, nettles, old shed and flourishing garden to life with pencils, crayons and their own imagination. The pictures are printed single-sided, giving young artists plenty of room to enjoy every stage of the transformation.

Ideal for children who love dogs, butterflies, gardening, flowers, wildlife and creative activities, this story-and-colouring book makes a thoughtful gift or an enjoyable choice for shared reading and quiet colouring time.

Every Mazin’s Woodland Adventures book tells a complete story and can be enjoyed in any order. Read, colour and imagine as Mazin turns a forgotten corner into a beautiful home for butterflies.
